1. Booking
A signed copy of the Terms & Conditions together with a deposit of £50 is required to confirm your booking. The balance and fully refundable damage deposit of £150 must be paid before the start of the hire period. If your booking is made within one month of your hire date then full payment is required before the reservation can be confirmed. On receipt of your deposit, an Invoice/Order Summary will be posted or emailed to you with the details of your reservation. On receiving your full and final payment you will be sent a receipt plus further details regarding your caravan and collection/delivery arrangements if necessary. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable.
2. Collection and Return
Self TowCaravans can be collected after 10am and returned before 4pm. Failure to return the caravan on time renders the hirer liable to a charge of £100. In order to tow a caravan, the hirer must show the following documents at the time of collection. Valid Certificate of Insurance, which states that the hirer is insured to tow a caravan, Valid MOT certificate for the towing vehicle, Driving License and recent utility bill from the property of the hirers home address. If travelling to Mainland UK (Scotland, England & Wales) the hirer is fully responsible for all costs in the event of any breakdown / recovery and is responsible for returning the caravan to us. it is recommended to take out your own recovery insurance. All drivers are required to be between the ages of 25 to 75, of good health and hold a valid driving license and insurance for the vehicle which tows the hired caravan. Visitors from abroad are advised to obtain an international driving license. Category B+E must be on the driving licence New Towing rules are in force as of January 2013.
3. Delivered Caravans
Caravans can be occupied from 4pm on the first day of hire and should be vacated by 10am on the last day of hire, unless otherwise agreed. Delivery address details must be supplied at time of booking.
Failure to provide accurate delivery details resulting in a caravan being sited incorrectly and needing to be re-sited renders the hirer liable to a charge of £50.
4. Insurance and Damage Deposit
The caravan is comprehensively insured by Armagh Caravan & Trade Sales. The Hirer is responsible for the excess charge of £150 of any insurance claim. In the event of any damage, including loss of equipment, damage to tyres and loss of roof lights or windows, howsoever caused, during the period of hire, the cost of repair will be deducted from the £150 damage deposit paid. If the repair cost is in excess of this £150 damage deposit paid then an additional sum will be payable to cover the cost of the repair, up to a total cost to the hirer of the insurance excess shown. You must inform your insurance company that you intend to tow a caravan. The owners of Armagh Caravan & Trade Sales have arranged the necessary legal insurances to run their caravan hire business. They cannot, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for loss of life, personal injury, loss, damage or accident. Details of any accident, damage or fault should be reported at the earliest possibility. You must obtain prior consent from Armagh Caravan & Trade Sales before giving any instruction for repair to the caravan. All receipts for the repairs must be retained and defective parts must be available for inspection where possible.
5. Liability
Whilst we make every effort to ensure that our caravans are in first class order, we cannot accept liability for any third party claim, accident or damage to your car, party or other property. The liability insurance does not cover broken windows, damaged tyres, lost gas cylinders or batteries; these are the hirer’s responsibility. NOTE: If for any reason the caravan is NOT available (e.g. accident during the previous hire) we will either provide a substitute caravan or return any payments made, Accidents and damage do happen which is beyond our control.
6. Equipment
All caravans are fully equipped. The hirer is asked to supply linen, sheets, pillowcases, towels and blankets etc.
7. Number Plates
If self-towing a legal yellow rectangluar reflective number plate with the correct registration of the tow vehicle must be supplied by the hirer. (Armagh Caravan & Trade Sales can arrange this if requested)
8. Tow Bar
If self-towing the vehicle must be fitted with the correct towing equipment.
9. Lighting
All our caravans are fitted with two seven pin plugs, one for charging the battery whilst towing and the other is for all caravan towing lights. It is your responsibility to make sure your vehicle is fitted with a seven pin ‘N’ socket. The hirer is legally required to check all lighting is working on vehicle and caravan before leaving site. (i.e. indicators, brake lights, sidelights, fog lights etc.)
10. Wing Mirrors
It is required by law to fit an outside extending mirror to the off side of the towing vehicle (these can be supplied by Armagh Caravan & Trade Sales).
11. Cleaning and Toilet Emptying
The hirer undertakes to keep the caravan and all fittings and effects in or on the caravan in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the hire period. Caravans returned dirty inside will be subject to a charge of £45. In addition to which a further £65 charge will be made if the toilet is not returned empty, cleaned and disinfected. These charges will be deducted from the hirer’s deposit.
12. No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted under any circumstances in the caravan. A charge of £65 will be made to cover cleaning and de-odorising.
13. Towing Speed Limit
The user must be aware that the maximum speed for towing is 60 miles per hour.
14. Caravan Berth
No more than the maximum sleeping capacity of the caravan is allowed at any time. This is to comply with the fire and safety regulations. More people in the caravan than the number of berth can also make for an uncomfortable time for all. Any infringement of this rule will result in the immediate loss of your holiday with no monies refunded.
